What is Pitch Pixel?

What is Pitch Pixel?

Each RGB LED or chip is one pixel. Pitch pixel is the distance between the centers of two adjacent pixels. Pitch pixels are measured in millimeters
(mm).
LED display with 2.5mm pixel pitch is commonly known as P2.5 LED display.

There are other LED displays such as P4 LED display, P5 LED display and P10 LED display. The number after the letter “P” indicates the pixel pitch of the LED display. P4 LED screen has a pixel pitch of 4mm and P10 LED screen has a pixel pitch of 10mm.

The smaller the pixel pitch, the smaller the space between pixels, because a pixel pitch represents the distance between two pixels. This results in greater pixel density and screen resolution.

How is Pitch Pixel related to led display?

When choosing an LED display, the user should evaluate the complexity of the displayed content, as well as the resolution required to display it. For example, if the display is used to display logo images and simple text, there is no need for a high resolution LED display. You just need the LED screen with the most suitable resolution in terms of cost and usage needs. The combination of cost and resolution will always be the best choice.

The higher the resolution, the smaller the pixel pitch, but it's more expensive. Since more LED assemblies are needed to achieve higher pixel density, materials and manufacturing costs will be higher but pixel brightness is narrower and display is better.

By determining the appropriate viewing distance for the LED display, users can get the most out of their investment. The optimal viewing distance is the position at which image fidelity is maintained, but image quality decreases or the screen appears pixelated if the observer moves closer.
